Since I got to explore things in different kinds of foods to be offer to Bacolod City. I search something’s to explore and have an adventure like no other activity nearby to burn your calories in your body. I suggestion is a must on everyone’s list going to Negros Occidental is by communing the nature for the forest in here at Mambukal Resort known for the seven waterfalls adventure to have that will fit on our summer. In simple geological terms, a waterfall is an area in the course of a river or stream where water flows over a vertical drop. In many rivers, there may be a number of drops. The river that flows through Mambukal Resort is an example of such series of waterfalls.
The summer is for you to bond with your family and get together as you do many activities to be learn. I have a filled water parks, or cruising around the island of idyllic. Beaches in here are full of definitely not on the same bodies of water. One of the places is this kind of summer get a ways can be relief from the punishing summer heat. More adventures like hiking, rock climb of the mountains to dip into pristine, cold, fresh and natural pools fed by walls and safe. The last one is they called the cascades of water. It’s very trick and roaring as a waterfall simply to have you a mind, body and spirits to get refreshing yourself. I experience that I have a holistic feelings to my body when I get here.
Mambukal Resort is located at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon and is 1200 feet above sea level giving the “cool mood” to their guests. Travel time maybe 1 hour and after that you must pay the P50 entrance fee, a staff already called a tour guide for the water-falling activity. Joining place like no other that I already do in other places. Most popular day trip destination for those who live in Bacolod City, Negros. Opened its gates to the public to visit.
The waterfall of Mambukal is about fifteen minutes away from the jump off point. Trail is a mixture of a dirt path and rough stone steps because some of the treads of which rises to more than three feet high. Amazing right! Just imagine traversing this path from above. Your body, one slip and you’d probably have an expensive paperweight on your office desk. So take time and feel this place like your resting and enjoying the travel that you had.
It was a lot quicker than we anticipated, waterfall came into a travel time of twelve minutes into the hike. Remember you can swim at this place during your tour but be careful because of the rough stone that the site have. But it has now been prohibited due to the loose rocks falling from the cliff face off the side of the falls. Took a few photo and see it for a few minutes. You will never get disappointed about the place.
The paths were well-marked and even paved in some areas. There were no detours or other paths that branched off so there was absolutely no chance of getting lost if you kept on walking on the other path. The falls weren’t that impressive but I kept on hoping that each fall would be a bit prettier than the next. They simply looked a bit dull were some parts that were steep and carved out of solid rock. Extraordinary falls that they have on this can of location.

"Calea Cakes" 1
By: Jhelaica Maglente
If we are going to talk about a list of good things and their delicious cakes in Negros City. Well, Calea would definitely be on the list. It is located at Bacolod city. But aside from the homey ambience in this dessert shop has of course, the icing on the cake is definitely their delectable cakes that are offered a world class. Because of this cake that are really taste good, I'm excited to bring my cousin Giesel Alfanta because she is the person that really loves to eat in the place that is something unique.
Once you visit their store, I assure that you will be overwhelmed by their wide selection of cakes. The problem is they don't have labels or specific names for their cakes in order for their customers to remember every bit of the detail their cakes have from the color, the flavor, and of course the consistency. It's some sort of marketing strategy but totally, it actually works! Since they don't have signature names, I could help you in describing each and every mouth watering treat. And oh, before anything else, I would like to inform you guys that the cakes in Calea is easy on the pocket. Cake prices range is from 600-800 pesos and if you want just a slice its 70-90 pesos only. Isn't this a great deal guys?
In this picture, for me this is my favorite but nothing special with this 4 different cakes but we've had better albeit not this cheap. Calea pastries and cakes is in a list for any trip to Bacolod. Their array of cakes and pastries makes wonder me but want is even more surprising is their reasonable prices. How I wish we have a Calea here in Manila, but they have so far rebuffed all calls and inquiries to expand here. But actually in the first place I had heard so much about this cakes but I was just ignored about this Lol. :D
So in my visit in Calea no, I mean WE because I'm with my cousin and friends. :) So as expected, we greeted by the cakes and they have a lot of them in all sorts and kinds. Since we could not choose which cakes to try it out and every single one seemed delicious, so we have no choice we tried ALL OF THEM! But it just a one slice per cake. Since they are all kind we would all share. And, I can say that Calea would definitely be the best.
But overall, to be honest I must say that most of their cakes were actually pretty good. I don’t think I liked the sweet ones however and there was not a particular cake that stood out. Most of my friends liked the white chocolate cheese cake while the others also chose the marshmallow one but its hard to chose what is the cakes that you need to try. Either way, it was a good meal. It's affordable and worth trying it, don't miss this delicious cakes in your vacation here in Bacolod, Negros City. Have a great day! God bless! :)

"Panda Ice Cream House" 2
By: Jhelaica Maglente
Your visit to Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental won’t be complete without trying out of these food items in the city “Panda Ice cream House”. They may not be a native delicacies but these are definitely must a try. Me and my cousin Giesel Alfanta asked if where we could find the best ice cream here in Negros then I was shocked that almost everyone pointed us to “Panda Ice Cream Store”. We really actually had a hard time to finding it, but for those planning to try it out, I will led you first, it is located at along Maria Christina Street just a few steps from Siliman University’s side gate. It is basically an ice cream on a crispy yummy breaded shell served immediately after frying.
We ate it with our hands as we munch on this delicious unique food experience. Price is only 55 pesos for the first piece, and just only 45 pesos on your succeeding pieces isn't it affordable?. But I got curious because how the hell would you combine hot and cold into a yummy dessert? Well indeed, yeah to see is to believe. The Panda Ice Cream Haus serves numerous different ice cream desserts, and beautifully designed at that. So without further ado, we ordered two Panda Fried Ice Cream a Pandan flavor and Ube. Panda actually has its own jingle this is so cutie.
Their fried ice cream is made of a crispy breaded shell like the Cordon Bleu. Size is about 2 inches height. The shell appeals like a plain breaded stuff to me. It is not sweet but it just a crispy. The ice cream is just ordinary, too. But the combine of the two is what made it really special. I don’t know but I just realized that I am a big fan of these “hot & cold” thingy like Choco Lava ala mode Lol. Well I can say it is really yummy. But don't forget that you need to eat it before it totally melts inside the fried dough, otherwise it gets messy to eat and yeah it so sticky. If you want to try it, lots of people recommend ordering the pandan and chocolate flavor.
Panda Ice Cream house is a local shop that has been serving and making ice cream and snacks both,
a hot and cold since 1995. Aside from regular flavors like strawberry and chocolate. The Panda Ice Cream House has more exotic ones like durian, blueberry and choco chili, isn't it amazing? All of their ice cream is made with a fresh fruit, something that manager and owner Royani Dy is proud of. Panda boasts that its ice cream has low fat and less sugar.
Based on Royani says that her family decided to go into the ice cream business in response to El Niño, and hasn’t turned away since. Their ice cream cake is a best seller, as their specially the rainbow cake. They also have a list of splits and sundaes. They also make their own soya milk, which they offer in a different flavors, mocha for the adults and a melon is being the most popular with kids. Panda mainly sells the usual ice cream that you scoop into a cone or cup. Panda’s Fried Ice Cream is something unusual and it’s really worth trying. Never skip the fried ice cream! :)

"Chicken Inasal" 3
By: Jhelaica Maglente
My cousin Giesel Alfanta that one of a travel blogger but known as the "fat goddess" (because she is fat. haha lol) , take us in a trip around a Bacolod, Negros City in search of the best dishes or foods there. Her favorite chicken inasal resto in Negros City is the Chicken House that located in Bacolod. You will sure of the best chicken and you will enjoy a very good service from their “self-assigned” waiters. The only downside is the serving of a rice, which is way too small. When asked by the waiter, Manong Jun, “Pila ka rice ‘day?” (How many rice would you like to order?), she will promptly answer, “seven.” My cousin likes the feel of “seven” as a word, and I really was shocked about that and you will know what she means when you are at the resto.
Negros celebrate in style. Negros cuisine developed from this eagerness for festivity, though much of this remarkable cuisine is guarded too much jealously in family kitchens. Aside from the dishes cooked with the Spanish influences, probably the most famous dish Negros Occidental is remembered for is Inasal or let's say barbecued marinated chicken. Inasal na Manok is a grilled chicken, marinated in a coco vinegar, garlic, lemon grass, turmeric and ginger. Served with a Java rice, dipping sauce and a atsara perfect with an very ice cold beverage. The Inasal is become a popular dish in the Philippines.
There are actually two places where you can grab a yummy bite of this chicken inasal. One is the Chicken House and the other one is Manokan Country. Their chicken meals though are a bit pricey but this is base on my standard. They range from 80-100+ pesos without the rice. But if I were you, this is worth for your vacation in Bacolod.
The inclusion of the Manokan Country will not only boost of our tourism efforts but also feature the city as a destination for the entire food lover. Sounds like a simple grilled chicken recipe, isn’t it? Well, but for me it might sound like that one. Who amongst you in the Philippines haven’t heard of this kind of this dish? I will be surprised if a huge number of the people will say that they haven’t. The Chicken Inasal is all over the place. However, the special marinade and basting sauce makes this Negros version of the grilled chicken an extra special.
Chicken Inasal and all you can eat rice, doesn’t this sound familiar? Well I think that is what you called “Mang Inasal”. In fact, several restaurant chains that specializing in this dish are in full swing branching-out to dominate its presence in the nearby provinces and in metro manila. If you want your chicken less burn then will advice you to try removing the skin of the chicken before grilling (well this is the tips for as you know the ways how to prevent to burn your chicken :D). This will also make the dish a bit lower in cholesterol. Well, if you want to taste a chicken that will bring you up to the feel like that “I want more and more” then try to visit the Manokan Country and Chicken Inasal only here in Bacolod, Negros City.

1 "Handicrafts"
By Mariela Mae Rico Adonis
One of the
most well known products in Negros is Handicraft. This kind of product is very useful
because you can create any designs using by your hand and for those people who
are going to try or to buy this kind of product in Negros.
When I’ve
been there in Negros last year I really enjoy making or creating handicrafts.
And for me it’s a type of work in Negros where I or other people can be useful
and do decorative things that are made completely by hand or by using only some
simple tools. I’ve learned also in Negros that it is a traditional means of
making goods that’s why for me it is a good product.
So, when I
visited Negros, I saw many handicrafts that are made by the people who were
living there. There are different designs, different colors and different shapes.
In Negros I also met a supplier of handicrafts there and that supplier is a
really kind person. I learned many things from that supplier about handicrafts.
And for me Handicrafts is a product who is easy to make especially for the
students who is addicted in making different designs. On the Handicraft shop
that I visited they offer a lot of handicrafts. I know that there’s a lot of
girls today are really addicted in different types of accessories.
When I was
walking in some place in Negros I saw a shop and it has a lot of Handicrafts product.
On that shop that I visited it is truly beautiful and if you are going to visit
here also for sure you will be amaze in their handicrafts product.
When I went
there in Negros, I really liked seeing handicrafts that is made by hands. I
found them all pretty since I consider myself as a fashionista. Then I realized
that Negros is really a good place when it comes to good handicrafts product.
"Aboy's Restaurant" 4
By: Jhelaica Maglente
If you are in hurry and you are so hungry. ABoy's Restaurant is the answer. We went there together with my cousin and very close friend from Bacolod. It was my first time actually to go there and quite excited to try it. We went inside and ordered, as we were guided by the waiter to our designated place, after maybe 5-7 minutes or so food was served! And I said “WOW” that was really fast! I don't know if this happens all the time, though there were not so many customers at that hour because it was 2:00pm in the afternoon. But nevertheless, I am really impressed by the very good service of their service crew, the food especially the sinigang! Wow! Very delicious!

This is the only place that their serves squid fat, adobo
style with vinegar garlic and onion. Many people discard this part of squid not
knowing that it can be turned into a delectable dish. It's high in cholesterol
so beware of this. You will also love their native grilled chicken (although
Manukan Country's and Chicken house is still the best). First timers in Bacolod
should make it a point to dine in there to get a taste of what this province
has to offer in terms of gastronomic satisfaction and has great yummy foods
there.
It’s suits to the events which is parties, anniversaries,
weddings. And there’s more! It’s a café place and you can drink beverage with
your friends. Aboy's Restaurant that I know it's started as small eatery near in the Burgos Public Market. This resto initially catered office employees of pharmaceutical companies based in Bacolod. The best sellers of aboy's restaurant is their Blue Marlin that cost 110 pesos per 100 g, 900 pesos per kilo, grilled mushrooms that cost 165 pesos, ginataang paguie 125 pesos, and their sinigang na managat 110 pesos.
Aboy's has a really good Filipino turo-turo dishes and
options of meats and seafood to cook grilled, sinigang, sizzling and etc.
Though specializing in Filipino cuisine, the restaurant is classy and pricey,
using old wood, antique hardwood chairs and tables, ethnic decor, and an
illusion of being in a garden setting even when indoors. My siblings and
cousins from Manila always have one or two meals in Aboy's every time they are
in Bacolod (which is at least twice a year). Aboy's is the preferred restaurant for special
occasions and for visitors we really want to impressed.
They offers a variety of home cooked foods and it is the home to fresh seafoods. This restaurant is started as an small eatery and after how many years or so, its became one of the Bacolod Negros City's Best Restaurant. They have already cooked foods that you can choose from the display glass. They served free taragon tea after your meal to assure that you are in a full stomach. So, what are you waiting for? Come, Relax and Visit the aboy's restaurant at liroville, subdivision singcang, Bacolod Negros City.

2 "Dizon-Ramos Museum"
By: Raynier Dominic G. Rivera
This Museum is worth it for me because you can see a lot of things inside the Dizon-Ramos Museum. I will tell you the things I see inside of the museum in Negros City. The address of the Dizon-Ramos Museum is JJR foundation 43 Burgos St. Bacolod City. And the Hotline number is 434-8512 you can serve the place to look at and explore things inside there. There is a Schedule of visit this is at
Tuesday to Friday at 10:00 am – 4:00pm only.
Also the Entrance Fee for student-P10.00 pesos, Adult P30.00 pesos. The museum is protected by the government of Negros City because of the old structure inside and outside of the Museum. This kind of place have the galleries, park and wildlife towards the museum. Having the local products, picture of the history for this place and many more. Guarded by the government of the police of safety and security going there and of course the area around it.
Not an essential visit, but worth it if you’re interested in getting a sense of how the upper-middle class lived in Bacolod in the 1950s. Among the artefacts deemed worthy to preserve for posterity are immense collections of naff ceramics, glassware and religious knick-knacks, as well as the dining table set for Sunday dinner. One block up from here is a magnificent art-deco mansion. They have the opened exhibit a special exhibit to be experience for tourist and also the people that will come over here. Sample the exhibit of Hermelinda’s hall exhibition and formal opening of the Dizon-Ramos Museum.
Housed in the ancestral home of Raymundo L. Dizon and Hermelinda V. Ramos, the Dizon-Ramos Museum is one of the many reasons you will visit Bacolod, Philippines. It was constructed in 1950 and shows the architecture of after-war Bacolod. The house is a blend of modern and neo-classic which makes anyone appreciate its past. The visitors get a sense of how upper-middle class lived in Bacolod in the 1950s.
In 2007, the house of Ramos and Dizon was converted into a museum, thus the name Dizon-Ramos Museum, a year after Hermelinda meet her creator. The museum was blessed and inaugurated on August 15, 2007. Among the artifacts deemed worthy to preserve for posterity are immense collections of naff ceramics, glassware, and religious knick-knacks. The first floor of the museum comprises of the Main Exhibit Hall which boasts a collection of a hundred pictorial reproductions which tried to captivate the rich history of Bacolod City and the prominent family, the Dizon-Ramos.
I really planned to check Dizon Ramos Museum after I read about it somewhere online but I had a hard time asking directions on how to get there. When I was having my Bacolod City tour and that time on my way to the cemetery in an intersection, the jeepney stopped to load passengers. Since I was in front near the driver’s seat, I luckily glanced at the museum sign. It was already closing time when I arrived there but the in-house guide accommodated me for the tour. Full of gorgeous things and mystery in this can of museum.

"Gina's Kabayo-an" 5
By: Jhelaica Maglente
This is the quote entered my mind when we invited to eat a mildly exotic food in the famous Carenderia in Dumaguete, Negros city that named Gina’s Kabayo’an. So, okay I was a little bit confused and tensed when I heard the “Kabayo”. I was asking myself: Are they gonna feed us the horse? The horse’s eyes? The horse shoe? and the foot? I’m not courageous enough to eat wild foods, because I’m a bit of a trying hard to be veterinarian. But while inside the car going there, I told myself that I should taste it, “it” meaning to say: whatever it is and what is the taste that will be served on our table.
Gina’s Kabayo-an located in Pinili Street Dumaguete City, just near towards the end of Rizal Boulevard. This eatery is very well-known in the City, it caters different kinds of affordable meals very suit for students and traveler’s on a budget. They offer different kinds of native foods to mildly exotic meals including “horse meat”. The regular customers of the carenderia from the maka-masa, average, conyo to professionals. This is the best place for those who really want to have a taste of how the people Negros City cooks or what we call the authentic local food.
This place is more of an eatery where you can get freshly cooked or steamed fish, meat, pork, soup and squids. You can choose from several of desserts and other delicious Filipino foods. Once a week you can find a special and different kind of meat in this place. Kabayo stands for horse in the local vernacular and thus Gina’s Kabayo-an serves a horse meat once a week.
We had so much fun of grilled squid on our 2 days stay in Dumaguete. Hello! It’s something we don’t always eat at home and it’s not always available in our market. And hello again, I know we will never say “umay” to this kind of food. The squid was grilled in the right timing and right amount of fire, it’s tenderness is perfect. The stuffing complimented the freshness of the squid that its almost didn't need a “sawsawan”. I’m too preoccupied on tasting everything and my companions are preoccupied of talking political issues. But nevertheless, it is so yummy that I can say that the coconut cream used is fresh which made the dish special.
So what’s my verdict on their very special “Adobong Kabayo”? I can say that if I'm still a meat lover, I would love to eat their single order. It's resemble the taste of a beef, but in an upgraded level. It was so soft that it seems it was cooked in a pressure cooker in the whole day. It didn't leave any bad marks on my tongue. It was juicier, tastier and yummier than beef. It didn't smell horrible, maybe because of the generous amount of the laurel. I know in my mind that if we weren't informed that it is a horse meat, Dhel and Jojo will definitely finish it. As I always say "it’s always in the mind".
When you are in Dumaguete do not forget to visit Gina’s Kabayo’an and try their specialties. It's worth a “break to a strict diet”. This eatery became famous because they cook every dish in an authentic Negros Oriental locale cooks a certain dish. There isn't overpowering taste in a single viand, the mixture of the ingredients was done in a neutralized way, again; it’s not too salty and not bland as well. It’s authentic, sumptuous and most importantly affordable. Have a great foods! :D
3 "Giftware"
By: Mariela Mae Adonis
For me when I went in Negros last year, Gift wares is also a good product there in Negros. It is usually found in different places where tourists used to go or to travel or to even stay for a vacation and relaxation. Tourists that came from other country are really fond of gift wares because it's their gifts or what we call the "pasalubong" for his/her friends, relatives, etc. Some examples of gift wares are vases, figurines, etc. These gift wares are commonly found in the province of Negros Oriental.
Selling gift wares would be like a movie that's very entertaining to the eyes of the consumers/people.
It would satisfy the desires of every individual especially those people/tourists who are looking for something that is unusual or cannot be found on their place, so that, they will be able to try something new that they haven't done before. Who would choose to try something over and over again?! None, of course! All of us wanted to try something new.
All of these statements are true because based on my experiences when I was in Negros last year; I was on my way to a specific place somewhere in Negros. Then suddenly I saw a group of people in a store and the first thing that comes on my mind, "What are these people up to?" Since I'm really conscious about it, I get out of my car to see what's happening. I asked the owner of the store if what's going on and she said that their stocks are almost gone and some of it were already reserved for somebody. Then I asked what their product is and she said that she sells gift wares.
After knowing the situation, I realized that gift wares are wanted by many tourists. In the first place, I found gift wares kind of cheap but I was totally wrong. By the use of this kind of product, we will be able to show how Filipinos' perseverance & hardwork for them to sustain their everyday needs. Some Filipinos are really clever when it comes to business. They really used the mind & knowledge in right way given by our Almighty God.
4 "Pina Cloth"
By Mariela Mae Adonis
So my cousin is really busy preparing for her wedding and their very hectic because in just two months the wedding will already happen. Her wedding comes unexpectedly, it supposed to happen this year, 2014, but they change the date, from December 2014 to June 2014. Because we just find out that my cousin is pregnant and her due date is on December. What’s good about their wedding is that everything is already arrange, the church, the reception, and dresses of the guests and the groom. But the only thing that is not ready yet is my cousin’s wedding dress, so she asked me if I know someone who makes a wedding dress. Luckily, I have a friend who makes wedding dresses, and these are not just simple wedding dresses but a very special wedding dresses because they are made of pina cloth.
So I refer them to my friend, and immediately they arrange a date to meet with him. Then on the day we came to my friend’s boutique, she is really stunned because the wedding dresses that are made of pina cloth are very beautiful and well-made. She doesn’t know what dress she will choose because there is so much dress to choose from. So my friend met with us, my friend and his team is from Negros. They have two branches, one from Negros and one here in Manila (I will not mention his name or his boutique’s name because he doesn’t like being in an article or being interviewed.) So my cousin asked my friend if what dress will suit her because she doesn’t really know what to choose, but my friend said that he will just make my cousin a dress instead of choosing one on his boutique.
At first, my cousin is very hesitant because she doesn't know if it will arrived or be done before her
wedding comes, but my friend assure to them that the wedding dress will be ready in just a month. So my cousin said yes then my friend get her measurement. Then after a month the wedding dress is already done. We are really amaze and stunned because the dress is really beautiful, every single inch of the wedding dress is well-made and it fits really well to my cousin. And on the day of her wedding everyone is really amaze not just because of how wedding is arrange but also because of the wedding dress, it adds more beauty to her. So the ceremony starts and ends. And this is one of the events that my cousin will never forget.
We really thanked my friend because he really makes her dream wedding dress come true. So the pina cloth is a very special cloth, you will never find them anywhere; you will only find pina cloth in Negros. And I totally recommend pina cloth from Negros everywhere, and I also recommend not just my friend but all tailor of pina cloth because they make a very special cloth into a very special dress.
5 "Garments"
By: Mariela Mae Adonis
Are you looking for a nice dress, pants, shorts, or t-shirts? Here in Negros we have a product who was called Garments.
Actually I'm a fashionable person and I really love wearing different types of clothes. And if we don't have this kind of product, what are we going to wear in our everyday lives? When I was in 3rd year high school we have a subject which called T.L.E which means Technical Livelihood Education that only for girls. On that period, I experience how to make a garment dress which is really hard or difficult to work through it. Since I love dress, I enjoyed working on it and also my classmates. There are so many things that I've learned on that subject and it also helps in my everyday living. Nowadays, I've been encountering different garments that are usually dressed by some celebrities. I was able to see these garments I'm talking about through the use of social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. It has been too mainstream and people specifically girls tend to imitate or adapt the lifestyle of celebrities in a way of dressing themselves.
However, some of us couldn't afford these garments because it's way too expensive that's why some entrepreneurs used to sell a garment that's exactly the same what celebrities wore. I'd say 80% of our population is thrifty so there's no doubt why there are so many stalls selling garments where most people tend to buy so they will be able to keep themselves gorgeous just the way the celebrities are.
Many entrepreneurs sell fake products of this garment so that people will be able to buy this kind of garment even if it's just fake as long as the design is made perfectly but not totally perfect.Just a bit of an advice. When you're going to buy garments or even other things, make sure it won't cause any problem especially to your health. I would rather buy original than fake. When it comes to health issues, prevention is better than cure.

Bacolod Public Plaza
By: Raynier Dominic G. Rivera
Bacolod Public Plaza-is known of the “Bacolod Plaza
Bandstand and Gazebo” Because right at the center of Bacolod Public Plaza, the
bandstand was constructed in 1927 to complement to weekend cultural activities
of the early Bacolecos. This is named of world-famous composers like Mozart, Bach,
Beethoven and Wagner circle the sides of the roofing, attesting to the early
Bacolodnon’s familiarity with European Culture. A proof of the early Negrenses
familiarity with Culture that they have. The plaza constructed in 1927 a place
for recreation, political, spiritual and cultural activities. A quite a popular
site for outdoor picnics and concerts. Often used to house a bandstand and
inscribed along the sides of the roof are the Western Classical music
composers.
This is both park and plaza for the people of Negros. Having
a good quality at this structure of plaza in Negros. You can see in the picture
that it’s clean and no vendors that the side of the plaza of Bacolod. Plaza has
turned into a virtual Masskara park with the lighting up of the bandstand. They
called the plaza or park as a “City of Smiles”. Because you can get a Good
vibes if you stay there and the other one is happy vibes.
You want to know where did the Public Plaza go? Actually it’s
not really covered by the kiosks, giant billboards would hide it from the
streets because not many Bacoleños are aware of how majestic the plaza once
was. All I know that this kind of topic will always start with Nostalgia. But
it is for nostalgic reasons why Bacoleños should be concerned with what’s
happening to the ever iconic landmark that is now slowly being covered up and
pushed aside.
In my opinion in this plaza that they need to have a concern
because no one wants to do anything with the plaza anymore. There’s even a slim
chance of seeing those fountains works. It is obviously easier for people to
walk from the Cathedral. But sometimes I feel like more attention is being paid
to this newly built landmark than the decades old one that is slowly becoming
irrelevant. It is also a nice place to
walk around and think.

1 "The Ruins: An old and ancestral mansion"
The Ruins: An old and ancestral mansion
By: Raynier Dominic
G. RiveraThe Ruins-it’s the place that you shouldn’t miss in Negros City. The ruins located in the city of Negros is a known tourist attraction. Best historical architectures because is a fourth class city in the Negros Occidental, Philippines. Part of the metropolitan area called Metro Bacolod, includes the neighbors, Silay to north and south of Bacolod. But they would be quick to add that the province is also rich in Philippine culture.
In instant you will the beauty of the place and have the
eco-friendly when you look around the place. Famous and they said that you
called the Ruins as the Taj Mahal of the Philippines. Why? Because of very
interesting framework from outside, it’s compared to the landmark in Agra,
India since the story behind the mansion was built is similar to that Taj
Mahal. When you mention the foods in
Ruins that comes to mind for many Filipinos like as is delicious food. Cheap
and locals love to eat in here.
The Ruins is exactly that of old mansion. In early
1900’s, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson is a Spanish-Filipino sugar baron. Built the
mansion for his Portuguese wife. In 1920 by Don Mariano in loving memory was
built of his deceased wife Maria. But not until the eve of the World War II
that it was burned down by the recruited guerrilla soldier so that it will not
be used as headquarters by the Japanese forces.
If you’re wondering the mansion looks like then I will
provide you the picture at the side of my article for you to see the Ruins of
an old mansion. I proceeded in front of the façade of the mansion and spent a
minute just staring at it. It was outstanding by the minute. Impressive
architecture and surrounding landscape gardens.
The "skeletal" remains of a magnificent structure
built out of love for a woman, then ordered to be razed by fire out of love for
our country. A lots of history that they will tell you about the ruins. The
best enjoyed during dusk. Not just the ruins of an old mansion you will see.
Also the beautiful sunset at the side. A Historical Place for the tourist too.
This is the drama part of the ruins, if you stay a little bit more until the night you catch the mansion in its mystic glow bathe with lights and over. You can do the things inside the Ruins which is meaningful and beautiful mansion. Many ways to enjoy it like look around the remains of the mansion long enough, just imagine how it used to look an old mansion. But despite it having no walls or roof. The ruins still stand proud.
